Slavery and Human Trafficking
Campus Living Villages (CLV) is an owner, developer and operator of student accommodation and currently manages over 13,000 beds in the United Kingdom. As a specialist in student accommodation, CLV has established itself as a leading provider of quality facilities and exciting student communities. CLV launched in the UK in 2008 and has villages in 15 locations including Birmingham, Leeds, Newport, Manchester, Liverpool and multiple London sites.
CLV is committed to business practices to protect workers both within its group and in its supply chain from slavery and human trafficking. Within CLV’s business there are processes in place to ensure that workers are not exploited, and are protected from poor labour practices.
CLV has also taken steps to eradicate any slavery or human trafficking from its supply chain. Most of CLV’s procurement is performed centrally by a procurement team. CLV’s supply chains include construction contractors, facilities management services to maintain sites, cleaning and linen services, as well as goods such as furniture and whitegoods. The majority of CLV’s supply chain are UK based. As a part of our procurement process a ‘Request for Proposal’ is issued whereby CLV ask questions of bidders that are targeted towards compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (“Act”). CLV do not engage suppliers who do not comply with the Act. CLV also include, where possible, contractual terms in our agreements with suppliers imposing ongoing obligations on the supplier to comply with the Act, and notify CLV if it is aware of any circumstances within its own supply chain that could constitute an offence under the Act.
