A Floral Paradise: Journey Through Exbury Gardens
Created by the Rothschild family in 1919. Exbury gardens is renowned for its beautiful colours in spring with stunning shrubs of Rhododendrons and azaleas lining the paths with elegant flowers. As well as a walk through a daffodil meadow and the river of gold, containing a beautiful display of spring flowers.
There are over 22 miles of pathways in the gardens, with a variety of walking surfaces and different habitats. As described by the family today:
"We offer woodland walks, world famous displays of rhododendrons, azaleas and camellias, art and sculpture exhibitions and since 2001 a miniature steam railway that follows a scenic route through parts of the gardens previously inaccessible to the public."
There are plenty of opportunity's for food and refreshments in the gardens. Take a visit to 'The Little Kitchen' for a menu of locally sourced ingredients visit 'Mr Eddy's' Restaurant for coffee and cake, or 'VGF' for Vegan and gluten free options. You will also find 'The Old Tennis Court Cafe', as well as 'Rhodo Pizza' . You are welcome to pop in for coffee, cake or lunch, so please remember to bring money with you should you wish to purchase something.
