Salford is a lively and diverse city, with people from all backgrounds coming to live and study. The city centre is within walking distance of our Salford Student Village and can also be accessed easily on public transport or by car.
As well as being on the doorstep of Manchester’s nightlife and restaurants, Salford also has its own great selection of local pubs and bars to unwind in.
Greater Manchester is proud to be LGBTQI+ friendly. From Salford University’s support of their LGBTQI+ students, to Manchester’s hugely popular Gay Village and its renowned annual Pride Parade Weekend.
For history lovers, there are some fantastic cultural destinations to visit in Salford and Manchester, including the Manchester Museum, People’s History Museum, the Museum of Science & Industry, and the Imperial War Museum North. The Salford Museum & Art Gallery and the Working Class Movement Library can also be found on the University of Salford campus.
